Day 1 (100 Day Challenge) Forgiveness

July 27, 2007 · No Comments

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” - Lewis B. Smedes

“It’s easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend.” – William Blake

“Forgiveness is me giving up my right to hurt you for hurting me” – Anonymous

I chose forgiveness because I am mad at a particular person. This person was my best friend and we talked about everything. I opened up myself more to this person than I have to anyone. This person just shut me out of his life. It felt like I was standing in an archway and the door slammed in my face, not only did the door slam in my face but I stayed at the door. Yes, I stayed and pleaded out to this person and the person disregarded that. After days of pleading and trying to reach out to this person I gave up. I have to see this person five days a week, luckily I do not have to interact with this person. But I am holding on to the anger I have for this person. Because I believe this person should hurt the same way I hurt. Only God knows how much I am truly hurt, only God. To move on, I need to forgive this person and myself. I need to forgive him, because he obviously going through something that I just cannot phantom. I need to forgive myself for wanting to hurt and punish this person because this person helps to me to bring out the worst me. The me that wants him to crumble and grabble at my feet. These are characteristics I do not want to show of myself. I have to give up my right to hurt him for hurting me. It’s hard and it feels strange, but I think I have made a big step forward.

Cheesecake=Career

July 26, 2007 · 2 Comments

This morning I came across an article called,”For Twenty-Something’s, Life is like the Cheesecake Factory” by Christine Hassler. It was a really good article, making a comparision of cheesecake to life. The over all point was that “the twenty something experience is full of limitless options and choices with no guarntees and constant opportunities for comparison.”

So what do you do when you are faced with so many options?

1) You don’t have to read the entire menu

You need to ask yourself three questions: 1. Where do you want to live? 2. Who do I know whose job sounds interesting and appealing? 3. What industry is something that I am interested in reading about in my spare time?

2) Decide on your order

Resist asking for others opinions and remember that it is all about you.

3) Don’t compare your dish to others.

Everyone has a different path

4) Enjoy your meal

Sometimes you have to get a job that is not really you to get one later on that is you.

Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows

July 23, 2007 · 4 Comments

On a scale of one to ten, the book for me was a ten. I thought that it was going to be tedious to get threw, but it wasn’t. The characters did not do anything out of character. Warning for some who have not read the book this post will be a spoiler. So tune out now. Here are my notes about book seven:

Snape and Lily BFF (I could see it, I thought it explained a lot)

I cannot believe that Volde did not figure out Snape

HP was a type of Horcux (spelled wrong sorry)

Rosie, Hugo, Albus Severus, James, and Lilly (I cannot believe Ginny let Harry name the kids)

Deathly Hallows

I yearned more for Harry’s mother and father’s histories

Tonks dying was unexpected for me

Was this not Dumbledore and the Deathly Hallows?????

Newts and Occupations anyone?

Kudos to Neville (Herbology Professor and Nagini killer)

Told you guys about lupin and one of the twins

Harry eyes (I still missed the connection? I know they are like his mothers. I am guessing that the eyes are the window to the soul. His mother, little Al, and him have the same kindred spirit?)

What Your Latte Says About You

When it comes to what you like, you have your own unique tastes. And people don’t really understand them.

You are a very frivolous person. You don’t take anything too seriously. Why should you?

Intense and energetic, you aren’t completely happy unless you are bouncing off the walls.

You’re addicted to caffeine. There’s no denying it.

You are a child at heart, and you don’t ever miss the opportunity to do something playful.

You are sophisticated and daring, but you are never snobby.
