Girls Like Us

I’ve been engaging my customers in conversation to pass the time at work.  There was one lady with four kids.  They are all under the age of eight, including a infant.  We were just talking about how hard it is to get a job now.  We talked about food stamps and section 8. And she said something that hit a nerve.  She said women like us.

It caught me off guard.  What did she mean?  Yeah, we are both sturggling and trying to make ends meat.  But what did she mean, the context of the convesation flew out the window.  How are we a like?
